The Island of Dr. Moreau
Audio Book Trailer & Illustrated Book Cover
An eerie tale written by H.G. Wells, freshly designed to celebrate the launch of its’ latest edition. The illustrated cover portrays a new approach directing you to enter the belly of the beast and explore the intricate writings of Dr. Moreau. Additionally, with the rising popularity of audio books and their accessibility, the newest edition utilizes an animated trailer which matches the tone of the story while foreshadowing the events which occur within the story.
Within the trailer, there is a combination of both dark and mysterious visuals aligned with similar sound effects. These are used to not only foreshadow the plot of the story and set the scene, but make the viewer feel as Prendick did during his time on the island. Visual metaphors can be explored through the use of jagged spikes and monstrous growls referring to the hungry and ravenous monsters present within The Island of Dr. Moreau.
The use of a multitude of sharp intricate shapes not only creates a larger sense of illustrated realism, but leaves the viewer with a piercing feeling of fear. However the viewer may feel, the title of the book being centered in the mouth of the beast only entices them to enter with no regard for their surroundings.
