UNF OzFest 2021
Branding & Event Promotion
OzFest is the University of North Florida's yearly concert hosted by Osprey Life and Productions. This year, due to Covid-19, a drive-in concert was the only approach to abide by covid guidelines. Drive-in events have a retro and vintage experience attached to them. This provided the design style portrayed in the promotional material and merchandise. An ink bleed and washed-out design aesthetic correlates the artist and event to the nature of the drive-in approach.
Due to this being an event directly correlated to the University of North Florida, the color palette was limited to blue & grey. However, with these colors there was room for experimentation with type and imagery. To achieve the vintage aesthetic which aligned with the nature of the drive-in, a variety of fonts including, Helvetica, Kinescope, Temeraire, and Vatican all were used to achieve this old fashioned ink bleed design approach.
Imagery for the promotional material and merchandise was derived from the same ink bleed design often found on old style vintage t-shirts. This allowed for a cohesive event in regard to not only the nature of a drive-in concert, but across the branding as a whole design aesthetic.
